Through regular offerings and special offerings First Presbyterian Church financially and materially supports a broad range of causes. We seek to look beyond our church walls to the needs of the world. Jesus has called us to help the poor, the broken, and the outcast. He has also called us to share the Gospel "to the ends of the earth." These twin efforts can be seen in the works we support.

From the general fund of the church we support these causes.

Knox Fellowship International

Knox Fellowship is an international leader in evangelism ministry, preparing churches and mobilizing leaders with an effective evangelism and discipleship process designed in four stages, enabling churches to establish evangelism as a core value that is active throughout your church ministries.

New York City Project

Dr. Tad and Jane Gilmore minister in New York City among international students attending several universities. Their outreach, through friendship evangelism and Bible study, is reaching many students who will return to their native lands as persons of influence. Of these, many will have received Jesus as Lord and Savior. They will become witnesses in lands where American missionaries are shut out.

Witnessing Ministries to Christ

The Rural Presbyterian Church is made up of the Dalit people in India, the lowest "untouchable" class in the Indian caste system. The Dalits are 15% of India's billion people. God is at work among this rapidly growing church. The Constitution of the Republic of India has abolished untouchability but because the practice is based on Hindu religious beliefs, there has been little improvement in the conditions of the untouchables in many rural parts of the country. The God of the Bible declares that each person is precious in his sight, carefully made and crafted. The help and hope of the Good News of Jesus Christ has touched the lives of these people, and it is our privilege to pray for and contribute to the projects in their midst, including schools, nutrition and clothing for school children, training for pastors, healthcare, sanitation, and techniques for sustainable agriculture.

Family Rescue Services

Family Rescue Services works to insure that victims of domestic violence and sexual assault are provided adequate emergency services, support, advocacy, and a safe haven. Furthermore, they promote public awareness and understanding about domestic violence and sexual assault. In Alliance a safe house is maintained and staffed where each year hundreds of women and children are helped out of violent situations.

The Presbyterian Church USA

The ministry of the Presbytery, Synod, and General Assembly of the church focuses on a broad range of causes from new church development to global disaster relief. Our money combines with gifts from thousands of Presbyterian congregations to meet human need and spiritual evangelism across our nation and the world.

By special and occasional offerings we support these causes.

The annual Hunger Offering (January), One Great Hour of Sharing (Easter), The Peace Making Offering (October), The Christmas Joy Offering (December), monthly Food Bank Offering (second Sunday of each month), the Campership Fund (winter and spring), Gideons International (each fall), and annual CROP walk (October), Just Neighbors (year round), and Operation Christmas Child (November).
